Young Carers
A young carer is a young person who cares for someone in their family who has an:
- Illness
- Disability
- Addiction
- Mental health condition
- Other vulnerability or frailty
In 2014, our youth workers supported a group of young people to open our first provision for young carers in Slough. This has evolved into an entire service supporting young carers aged 5 to 18 (or up to 25 with learning difficulties or special educational needs). To find out more about young carers and our offer for young people with caring roles, please visit Slough Young Carers here.
